Investment Speedating for Female Founders

This March, we’re spotlighting the power of women in tech! The Investment Speeddating edition will be dedicated to female-founded technology startups and female investors, creating a space to celebrate innovation and diversity. Schedule 

• 17:00 – Velvet Innovation Meetup begins with informal networking. 

• 17:30 – Official program starts. Ten interesting projects from Brno and its surroundings will present their work (not limited to startups).  

• 18:15 – Investment Speed-Dating session starts (will be organized in English) 

• 19:00 – End of investment speed-dating session and start of informal networking 

Investment Speed-Dating Format 

Participants: 10 selected female-led startups from Czechia, Slovakia, and Austria and 10 female investors will participate in a structured session. The format is following: 

• Each project presents an elevator pitch (approx. 2 minutes). 

• Investors briefly introduce themselves (approx. 1 minute). 

• Investors feedback and Q&A session follows (approx. 2 minutes). 

• A visible timer will ensure smooth transitions, with each session lasting 5 minutes. The whole event is designed to take up to 45 minutes. 

After the speed-dating, there will be plenty of time for further discussions and networking , ensuring a lively and engaging evening. 
 

What is the Velvet Innovation Meetup?  

A regular informal meeting where participants learn what's currently happening in the innovation ecosystem of South Moravia. Each meetup kicks off with an hour where 10 innovative projects from the private, public and academic sectors are quickly introduced, followed by ample time for networking. The event is itinerant, giving you a opportunity to visit interesting places and institutions in the region. 
 

We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 5pm, except during the summer and the end of the year.

• No dress code
• The event is held in Czech 
• We recommend not to drive to the event. If possible, arrive on foot or by public transport
• Refreshments will be provided
